The fish pond, reminiscent of the larger one found at the Palazzo Te in Mantua, designed by Giulio Romano, is a Romanesque-inspired masterpiece and is a reminder that for the Villa, water was a revitalizing element, able to satisfy the irrigation needs of the lush orchards and gardens as well as to entertain visitors with its marvelous fountains.
