Giovan Battista Scultori
This room, with its muted colors, is dedicated to Giovan Battista Scultori. A pupil and collaborator of Giulio Romano, he was a master sculptor of stucco and an immensely skilled decorative artist. The huge mask-like Fireplaces at Villa Della Torre are attributed to him and actually seem to be a personal interpretation of the taste for the grotesque, the deformed and the oversized, as expressed in the Hall of Giants (Sala dei Giganti) at Palazzo Te in Mantua.
The bathroom is clad in precious yellow Trovante and Bardiglio Imperiale marble.
